Stephen Colbert Slams Trump’s Joint Session of Congress as ‘Filled With Useful Lies’ and ‘Applauded by Useless Idiots’: ‘Another Two Hours We’ll Never Get Back’
During tonight’s live broadcast of “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert recapped President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress and criticized many of the talking points made during the almost two-hour speech.
Before Colbert took the stage, an “Animaniacs” theme song parody called “The Maga Maniacs” played for the audience. Featuring cartoon versions of Trump, Vice President Jd Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson, the song went like this: “It’s time for Maga Maniacs/ Federal workers get the ax/ Dei rollbacks/ Putin can relax/ We’re Maga Maniacs.”
After the song finished, Colbert appeared and quickly dove into Trump’s address, first poking fun at the speech’s theme.
“The theme of tonight’s speech was ‘The renewal of the American Dream,'” Colbert said. “Yeah, I don’t know if I want to sign up for the renewal. Can’t I just use a different email to get another free trial?...
