After taking a breather from the successes of hit fighting films like Unstoppable and The Fire Inside, Hollywood has yet another offering in the boxing realm with Uppercut, now available to the masses. German actress Luiii plays a committed fighter who is ultimately trained by a veteran coach, portrayed by none other than Golden Globe-winner Ving Rhames. The two stars recently spoke to MovieWeb about their latest small-scale but impactful drama feature, and even took time to share some of their favorite boxing movies leading up to Uppercut.

"Over the years, one of my favorites was Raging Bull because... it was a lot about who the characters were, even though there were some great boxing matches in it," Rhames told MovieWeb. "But really, I got to know who De Niro was. I got to know who Joe Pesci was. That was what I was more focused on, opposed to boxing.
