Jon Bernthal Promises a Brutal 'Punisher' in His Disney+ Special
Jon Bernthal’s return to the role of Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again was just one of the high points of Marvel’s revival of the former Netflix-based Defenders Saga. Now, not only is The Punisher part of the MCU, he is bringing back the same brutal, no-holds-barred approach to dealing with things that made the character one of Marvel’s most violent and controversial characters. Bernthal is also getting his own Disney+ special, but anyone expecting that things could be toned down for that shouldn’t worry.
Bernthal appeared at SXSW to support the premiere of The Accountant 2, and while there he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his Marvel Studios return and what it means to him to be back playing Frank Castle again. He said:
