Jean Smart Returning To Broadway This Summer In World Premiere One-Woman Play ‘Call Me Izzy’

Hacks star Jean Smart will return to Broadway this summer in the world premiere of Jamie Wax’s darkly comedic one-woman play Call Me Izzy.
The 12-week limited engagement will play at Broadway’s Studio 54 from May 24 – August 17 with an opening night set for June 12. Directing will be Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George).
While Smart is best known for her beloved TV role Designing Women and her Emmy-winning performances in Hacks, she launched her Broadway career in 1981 in Piaf and returned the stage in the 2000 Broadway production The Man Who Came To Dinner. She earned a Tony nomination for the latter performance.
