A surprising collaboration between Nicholas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan has taken a new twist. Two weeks ago, we learned that Alicia Vikander would join Jake Gyllenhaal in the film, but she has now exited the project. According to Deadline, Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor is now in negotiations to replace Vikander. Described as a "supernatural romantic thriller," the project will be adapted into a film helmed by Shyamalan and a novel written by Sparks.

Vikander is an Academy Award-winning actress who rose to prominence with roles in 2012's Anna Karenina and A Royal Affair. She went on to appear in movies including Ex Machina and The Danish Girl, with the latter earning her an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actress category.
