‘Wolf King’ Netflix Review: Gorgeously Animated High Fantasy Show Is An Entertaining Watch

The story about the rightful heir to the throne returning to reclaim their kingdom is a tale as old as time. Probably the most popular iteration of this trope was seen in William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Then that was adapted in the form of Akira Kurosawa’s The Bad Sleep Well, Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff’s The Lion King, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider, and Robert Eggers’ The Northman. Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword had Arthur finding out about his royal heritage after pulling Excalibur from the stone. James Wan’s Aquaman had the titular character living as the son of a lighthouse keeper and then claiming his birthright as the ruler of Atlantis. S.S.
