A producer associated with Dragon Ball Daima acknowledged the suspicious similarities between King Gomah and Jiren from Dragon Ball Super. A possible connection between the two Akira Toriyama characters was also addressed.
Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, a legendary animator and character designer for the Dragon Ball franchise, was interviewed in early March at Made in Asia Spring 2025 in Brussels, Belgium. El Camino de la Serpiente, a YouTube content creator, interviewed Nakatsuru during the three-day anime fan event. At the tail end of the interview, Nakatsuru was asked about the two final antagonists of Daima and Super.
