Russo Brothers: MCU’s Biggest Casting Decision That Locked Out Jonathan Majors From Marvel Was Kevin Feige’s Idea, Not Ours
Jonathan Majors was on the rise of Hollywood stardom when one controversy completely derailed his acting career as well as his Marvel dream. The actor was all set to play Kang the Conqueror in the then-titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. But after he was accused of some serious charges by a former girlfriend, Disney and Marvel pulled the plug on his character.
After this, The Kang Dynasty became Avengers: Doomsday, and Robert Downey Jr. was brought in as Doctor Doom to lead the project.

Now, the creative minds behind this movie, Joe and Anthony Russo, have detailed that the entire decision to cast Downey Jr. was not theirs at all. It was, in fact, Marvel President Kevin Feige who made the final call on the casting.
