Zenshu: A surprise standout in 2025’s anime lineup
At first, Zenshu plays out like a fun parody of ’90s anime tropes. Natsuko Hirose, our protagonist, finds herself inexplicably trapped within A Tale of Perishing, the show that shaped her life. The Nine Soldiers, the main characters, are a chaotic but lovable bunch, and Natsuko’s presence shakes things up in unexpected ways.
But as the story unfolds, Zenshu becomes something much deeper.
