Roy Wood Jr. to Host 85th Annual Peabody Awards
The Peabody Awards have found a host in Roy Wood Jr., the comedian and former “Daily Show” correspondent.
Wood is currently the host of CNN’s “Have I Got News for You,” which looks at the biggest news stories of the day through a comedic lens. He also recently released his fourth stand-up special “Lonely Flowers” on Hulu and headlined the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2023. This will mark the first time Wood has hosted the storied and highly revered event.
“No higher honor than to be in the room as we celebrate some of our generation’s best storytellers and reflect upon the ways in which we can all contribute to bettering the times we are in,” Wood said in a statement to press. “I am also there because there is a free dinner … at least I’m assuming there is dinner … there better be some damn food, that’s all I know.
