‘The Wheel of Time’ Season 3, Episode 5 Ending Explained: How Does the Dream World Work?
After glimpses and mentions in the first two season, “The Wheel of Time” Season 3 is finally diving deeper into Tel’aran’rhiod – the Dream World.
The fifth episode of the third season largely focuses on Egwene (Madeleine Madden) learning from Bair (Nukâka Coster-Waldau) and Melaine (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir) how to travel the Dream World. She learns that her uncontrolled thoughts can manifest in different ways in Tel’aran’rhiod – she gets scared and manifests herself in armor – and that any harm done here happens in the waking world.
Egwene is a rare dreamwalker, allowing her greater access to the Dream World when she wishes, but Bair warns her that every time she enters the dream “is to take a risk.” Her power in the world startles the Wise Ones as she vanishes and appears in Dream World Tar Valon where she learns she is being hunted by Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe) while she sleeps.
