'Would Probably Do a Disservice to the Books': Alan Ritchson on Why He Doesn't Want a Reacher Movie
Reacher star Alan Ritchson doesn't think it would be a good idea to turn the popular Prime Video series into a movie. He believes the current TV series format is the best way to handle the source material.
"That's interesting," Ritchson said to Men's Journal when asked about a potential Reacher feature film. "I can't speak to movies. I enjoy the format that we've got so much, and it works so well where we do a book a season. I think eight episodes seem to be the perfect amount of time to break out a book. I think it would probably do a disservice to the books." Ritchson's character was previously portrayed in film by Tom Cruise in 2012's Jack Reacher and the 2016 sequel, Never Go Back.
Ritchson added that, in his opinion, the way the current Prime Video adaptation is handling theJack Reacher book series by Lee Child is working nicely.
