BBC Studios Scripted Exec Saul Venit Exiting After Two Decades

Exclusive: Saul Venit, one of BBC Studios’ longest-serving senior execs, is exiting after two decades.
Venit, who is COO Scripted for the BBC’s commercial arm, will depart next week, we are told. He will not be directly replaced as of yet and some of his responsibilities will pass to finance director Ian McBain. Deadline understands Venit will take a bit of time out.
Venit joined the BBC around 25 years ago and has spent most of his time with BBC Studios (previously BBC Worldwide). He rose to Director of Business and Legal Affairs before spending nearly a decade as Chief Operating Officer of BBC Studios-owned Lookout Point. During that time, the indie rose to become one of the UK’s most prolific scripted producers, making the likes of Gentleman Jack, Last Tango in Halifax and Les Misérables.
