The Apothecary Diaries: The Reason Why I Love Concubine Gyokuyou So Much Has to Directly Do With How She Treats Jinshi
The Apothecary Diaries is one of my favorite shows in a long while. While Natsu Hyuga’s intriguing plot weave plays a massive part in that, so do the dynamic characters. I can never stop talking about Maomao and Jinshi and trying to peel the layers of masks they put on every day.
However, there are other characters to whom I feel pretty similar, and the Precious Consort Gyokuyou is one of them. The easygoing, fun, and kind consort is a great boss to Maomao. Moreover, she is also one of the only ones to continuously try and push the two protagonists together, even if just for her own entertainment.

However, there is another specific reason why my love for Gyokuyou grows with each episode of The Apothecary Diaries. That is, how she treats Jinshi during each of their encounters.
