1923star Julia Schlaepfer opens up about her character's tragic demise at the end of Season 2.

Speaking to Variety, Schlaepfer discussed the final moments of her 1923 character Alexandra, the free-spirited, strong-willed British woman who Brandon Sklenar's Spencer Dutton met and fell in love with in Africa. Regarding her initial response to the script, Schlaepfer said recalled "just sobbing for a long time after reading it." Schlaepfer explained, "It's wild because it is so devastating because we have been with these characters for three years, so really when Alex dies, a chunk of me dies with her. But it was the greatest honor of all time to get to bring that character to life, and I love her so much. It’s just really heartbreaking."
