
‘Hacks’ Season 4 reviews: The Emmy winner is ‘still the best comedy on television’

Hacks is back — and better than ever? That's the critical consensus for the Emmy-winning comedy, which returns with its fourth season on Thursday with two episodes.
As of this morning, Season 4 has a universal acclaim score of 94 on Metacritic based on five reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, it stands at 100 percent based on 10 reviews.
Season 4 picks up right where the shocking Season 3 finale left off after Ava (Hannah Einbinder) blackmailed Deborah (Jean Smart) to get the head writer position at the latter's new late-night show. And Deborah, who has never met a grudge she doesn't like, obviously does not let Ava off the hook.
