After years of radio silence, Marvel finally confirmed Simu Liu's return as Shang-Chi—and the actor was just as surprised by the cast list as the fans. Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Liu opened up about his role in Avengers: Doomsday and how he found out who else would be suiting up alongside him. While Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings debuted in 2021 and earned $432.2 million during a precarious pandemic box office window, Liu’s future in the MCU has remained murky... until now.

"I knew I was going to be involved in it to some capacity,” Liu said, referencing Doomsday, “but I didn't know who else they were announcing. They don't tell us anything. Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo ruined it for all of us. Now, they don't tell us.”
