ER is widely considered to be one of, if not the best, medical dramas of all time. One of its kind when it first premiered, the show has since established a benchmark and blueprint for several contemporary medical dramas, influencing the genre even more than a decade after its run.

While Noah Wyle’s run ended as John Carter in the show, he recently starred in WB’s The Pitt, a recently released medical drama that he also executive produces. Fans are elated to see Wyle in a white doctor’s coat again, but Sherri Crichton, the widow of ER creator Michael Crichton, recently sued the drama for allegedly being an unauthorized reboot of the legendary show.
