The man, the myth, the legend – Akira Toriyama, creator of the legendary Dragon Ball series, is certainly a very mischievous person, and we’ve got to see why multiple times before. The man is well-known for his bluffing. However, none of them even come close when you think about what he did with Gohan, exactly on this day, 32 years ago!

At first, the episode “Faith in a Boy” (181) seemed like a game-changer in the series, especially during the Cell Games Saga. Fans were led to believe that this episode was setting the stage for something huge, but little did they know, Toriyama had other plans entirely.

Toriyama ended up deceiving the entire world into believing that Gohan might one day surpass Goku and become the main character. In fact, the episode portrayed it so convincingly that many fans thought it was inevitable.
