Nielsen Streaming Top 10: ‘Adolescence’ Hits No. 1, ‘Wicked’ Debuts Big, ‘Severance’ and ‘The White Lotus’ Reach New Highs

Netflix’s groundbreaking limited series hit “Adolescence” has skyrocked to the top of the Nielsen charts. Per the ratings giant, the series scored 1.44 billion minutes during the week of March 17 to March 23 — its first full week of availability. That was up 59% vs the previous week, when it debuted at No. 9. Nielsen pointed out that the show particularly overindexed with adults 35-64 (56%) and Hispanic viewers (26%).
On the film side, “Wicked” is a wicked hit on streaming. The blockbuster film, which dropped March 21 on Peacock, landed on Nielsen’s ranker of the top 10 streaming programs for the week ending March 23 — clocking 905 million minutes viewed even though it was only available for three days that week. “Wicked” did well with both kids 2-11 and adults 18-49, per Nielsen.
That performance was good enough to make “Wicked” the No. 2 movie of the week, behind juggernaut “Moana 2,” which clocked 1.13 billion minutes for the week — good enough for No.
