The Weeknd Drowns Himself in Sorrow in Moody Music Video for “Drive,” Starring Jenny Ortega
The Weeknd has released a moody music video for “Drive,” a track from his latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. Directed by Trey Edward Shults and co-starring Jenna Ortega, the clip serves as a preview of Shults’s upcoming psychological thriller, also titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, co-starring the Weeknd, Ortega, and Barry Keoghan.
In the video, Ortega and the singer are seen cruising through the city and romantically perusing an amusement park, intercut with more ominous scenes of Ortega on her own, standing in front of a bonfire and driving through the desert. The video is bookended with shots of a teary-eyed Weeknd submerged in a bathtub, echoing the song’s lyrics: “I fell asleep in the tub, I was met with paralysis…Couldn’t scream for help, I just slowly felt the pressure hit.”
