‘To Be Hero X’ Is Doing Exactly What ‘Oshi No Ko’ Was Trying to Do but With Superheroes
With that magnificent premiere, it’s safe to say that To Be Hero X successfully managed to stun the viewers. From those stellar 2D/3D animations to fluid action scenes, this donghua has pretty much got everything to keep you hooked and excited for the upcoming episodes.
Interestingly, though, it has got the same vibe as Oshi no Ko, particularly those similar ‘main character’ swapping moves. But there’s a little twist: To Be Hero X, with those beautiful 2D/3D animations and ‘superhero’ narrative, outshines Oshi no Ko.
No doubt, Ai Hoshino’s murder plot was a gut-punch, especially considering how early it happened in the show. It compelled the viewers at the start, but it kinda fell apart in the later seasons, which got messy, and the manga’s rushed ending left Aqua’s story dangling. And it is where To Be Hero X picks up the slack.
