'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' Lands on Disney+ Next Month
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseis all set to swing onto a new streaming home. And it's one that allows fans to watch the animated sequel alongside several other Spider-Man titles. The critically acclaimed sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sets up a third film, Beyond the Spider-Verse, which won't open until 2027. Unlike the other major studios, Sony Pictures does not have a streaming platform of its own, so it sells and licenses its films to other streamers.
According to Discussing Film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will begin streaming on Disney+ starting May 1, 2025. The movie was previously streaming on Netflix. Sony Pictures has a deal with Netflix and Disney+ to stream their titles, with Netflix being the first choice for the studio's film slate after the theatrical window, with Disney getting them in the second run, typically 18 months or more after they open in theaters.
