Superman & Man of Steel Stars Unite for New Biopic
The casts of James Gunn's Superman and Zack Snyder's Man of Steel are about to collide. Michael Shannon, who memorably played Zod in the 2013 superhero movie as well as The Flash, has joined the cast of Skydance Sports' upcoming biopic about Mr. Irrelevant, a.k.a. John Tuggle.
Per Deadline, Shannon will play iconic coach Bill Parcells in the untitled football drama about former NFL player John Tuggle, who was given the title "Mr. Irrelevant" after being the last pick of the last round of the 1983 NFL Draft. Superman lead David Corenswet was previously cast to play Tuggle back in October 2024, with 1883 star Isabel May joining the movie last month in an undisclosed role.
Reacher creator Nick Santora penned the screenplay for the upcoming biopic, which is set to be directed by Jonathan Levine, whose directorial credits include zombie rom-com Warm Bodies and the Seth Rogen-led comedies 50/50,...
