Following hot on the heels of Boden's explosive return to Firehouse 51, which was as thrilling as promised, Chicago Fire Season 13 is set to welcome back another major character in the next episode. Carver, who has been missing in action from the station after he went on a sabbatical to prioritize his mental health, will make his triumphant return in Episode 19's "Permanent Damage." The character, portrayed by Jake Lockett, is fond of making surprise reappearances on the show, and it's been teased that this will yet again be the case. His return will see him back teaming with his on-and-off again partner Violet (Hanako Greensmith) on a case as revealed in the sneak peek for the episode, as well as the synopsis, which reads:

"Severide investigates an old house fire from 10 years back in which Kidd had responded; Carver and Violet search for a mystery medic who abandoned a victim; Novak looks for a roommate.
