Tyla Addresses Outfit Comparisons With Her Coachella Look to Britney Spears' 2001 VMAs Performance

Tyla hit the stage in a familiar looking outfit for weekend two of 2025 Coachella Music and Arts Festival on Friday (April 18) in Indio, Calif.
The 23-year-old “Push 2 Start” singer performed on the Outdoor Theatre stage in the evening on the first day of the second weekend.
Many fans took notice of what she was wearing as it looked very similarly to what Britney Spears wore during her 2001 MTV VMAs performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U.”
While people drew comparisons, Tyla took to social media to respond, denying the pop princess was inspiration for her look.

“Love her but I just thought the outfit was fly…no inspo,” she responded on Twitter/X to a since-deleted tweet.
Someone then commented on Tyla‘s response, saying they “think she is a copy cat and too full of herself,” which the singer did not take too kindly to.
