Max Is the Latest Streamer to Add an Extra Member Feature to Get You to Stop Sharing Your Password
There are fewer and fewer places for streaming freeloaders to escape to. Max followed in the footsteps of both Netflix and Disney+ and introduced an Extra Member Add-On feature. It’s the fancy, PR-friendly way of saying Max is finally cracking down on password sharing and wants you to pay extra if you’re mooching off someone else’s account.
The Max feature is being launched today, April 22, for an additional $7.99/month and includes the ability to transfer your profile as well so that you have your watch history, recommendations, and settings all intact. You can only add one extra member per account, it’s for one profile and one device at a time, and it’s only available if you subscribe to Max directly, not through a bundle.
