I love a movie with a simple yet exciting premise, and Netflix’s Bullet Train Explosion‘s title sums that up perfectly. (I’m not sure there has been more of an apt title since Snakes on a Plane.) The film, a remake of the 1975 Japanese thriller The Bullet Train, which also inspired Speed—the movie that, incidentally, saved Keanu Reeves’s career and launched Sandra Bullock’s.

This updated version is flawed, fun, and frenetic, but it delivers just enough thrills to earn a mild recommendation for a mindless diversion on Netflix’s streaming waves.
