Thunderbolts* Director Reveals the MCU Character He 'Really Wanted' That Didn't Make the Cut
Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* features a team of misfits banding together, uniting several notable characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Director Jake Schreier has now shared which other MCU character he originally wanted to be on the team before ultimately scrapping the idea.
Per the newest issue of SFX magazine (via GamesRadar), Schreier recalled how he'd pitched for Man-Thing to be one of the characters featured in Thunderbolts*. The Man-Thing character previously made his debut in 2022's Werewolf by Night, but has not been seen in the MCU since. Ultimately, Schreier agreed to let Man-Thing go, realizing that the character didn't meet certain criteria that the filmmakers were looking for with each of the members of the titular team.
"I think there was a point during pitching when I really wanted Man-Thing to be on the team," Schreier said. "It all worked out for the best... It was about looking through...
