There Was One Netflix Original That Could’ve Rivaled Dmc Had the Streaming Giant Not Royally Screwed It All Up

As the world was busy celebrating and streaming Devil May Cry on Netflix, anime fanatics missed the quiet premiere of a potential scene-stealer. The series in question is Moonrise, an original net animation (Ona) that Studio Wit helmed. The series was poised to be the next big anime hit, but alas, only a handful of anime fans came to know about it.
Netflix is being held responsible for Moonrise’s state. With Netflix quickly on its way to becoming an anime-streaming giant, people had hope that it would do justice to Moonrise. But alas, Moonrise did not receive any such treatment. Netflix is also being accused of minimal promotion for Moonrise.
Moonrise was supposed to be an apt rival for Devil May Cry
Netflix released Devil May Cry animated series on April 3, and Moonrise just a week later on April 10. Yet, while everyone is busy streaming Dmc, Moonrise‘s launch was barely known to anyone.
