Sebastian Stan Reveals How His Role As The McU's Bucky Barnes Changed His Career
Sebastian Stan quietly stole the show when he made his debut as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to the actor, the role changed the trajectory of his entire career.
"I was actually struggling with work," Stan told Vanity Fair, referring to the period in his career before he was cast as Bucky Barnes in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger. "I had just gotten off the phone with my business manager, who told me I was saved by $65,000 that came in residuals from Hot Tub Time s Machine," he added, referring to the 2010 science fiction comedy film in which he had a minor role.
Fortunately, Marvel Studios was looking for an actor who could give off dark vibes when casting for Bucky Barnes and Stan managed to land the part. "You could see that he has so much inside him and so much behind his eyes," the Marvel boss told the publication.
