New Studio Ghibli My Neighbor Totoro Cookbook Brings Anime Magic to the Dining Table

Studio Ghibli's 1988 film, My Neighbor Totoro, features a colorful array of food items that look extremely appetizing. On April 22, 2025, Viz Media released a 64-page cookbook that teaches Totoro fans how to bring the movie's delectable cuisine to their own dinner table.
As detailed on Viz Media's official site, My Neighbor Totoro: The Official Cookbook uses "step-by-step instructions and photography" to help both adults and young children create the many foods seen in the film. Initially published in Japan as part of the "Ghibli's Dining Table" series, Totoro'sCookbook is just one of several publications that teach fans how to prepare Ghibli-style food. The series also includes cookbooks based on Castle in the Sky (1986) and Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) -- two popular fantasy films also directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki.
