While Paul Reubens introduced his Pee-wee Herman character onstage in the early 1980s, the world was formally introduced to the fun-loving childlike character in the 1985 film Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. Now, the movie, which boasts a Certified Fresh 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, is set to make its streaming debut.

Pee-wee’s Big Adventure on the streamer will be available to stream on Max starting on May 1. Directed by Oscar-nominee Tim Burton, the story follows Pee-wee Herman as his treasured red bicycle gets stolen in broad daylight. He then sets off on a trip across the country to find it. At the time of its release, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, which was Burton’s directorial debut,earned $40.9 million at the box office against its $7 million budget.
