Sunday's episode of American Idol turned out to be the end of the road for Desmond Roberts and Amanda Barise, as the number of contestants dropped from 14 to 12. Desmond, the 26-year old singer from Corona, Calif., performed "Jesus Is Love" by The Commodores on April 27 as America voted live throughout the two-hour show. But he didn't receive enough votes to survive "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" night.

The three judges — Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Lionel Richie — had no power this week on ABC's reality TV program. But they did still comment on each of the contestants' songs.
