Update: Just kidding: Presumed Innocent star Ruth Negga will submit in Best Limited Series/TV Movie Supporting Actress — not lead as previously announced — at the Emmys.
The switch comes a day before the Emmy submission deadline on Thursday.
Negga, who plays Jake Gyllenhaal's wife Barbara Sabich on the Apple TV+ limited series, had moved to lead on April 30, surprising pundits and awards fans. The Oscar nominee had been expected to enter in supporting and had been nominated for Best Supporting Performance in a New Scripted Series at the Independent Spirit Awards earlier this year. She was previously in eighth place in Gold Derby's supporting actress odds. In the week since her brief move to lead, Negga rose all the way to seventh place in the odds.
