'Sinners' Is Now One of the 10 Biggest Vampire Movies of All Time

After another landmark weekend at the box office, director Ryan Coogler's Sinners is quickly becoming a cultural event, if it hasn't already. The movie passed the $150 million mark globally this weekend, as it registered one of the softest drops in history. In fact, Coogler's film is out-pacing Jordan Peele's similarly resonant Get Out, which defied horror movie trends and earned an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay some years ago. This weekend's stellar performance helped Sinners become not only one of the biggest horror movies in history, but among the highest-grossing vampire films ever made.
With $122 million domestically and another $39 million from overseas markets, Sinners' cumulative global haul stands at $161 million. This puts it ahead of Stephen Sommers' Van Helsing on the list of the highest-grossing vampire films ever made. At the same time, Sinners also overtook last year's Nosferatu.
