'Conclave' Director Taps Brad Pitt To Lead New Thriller
What might be the next project from Conclave director Edward Berger just took a huge step forward. Deadline is reporting that Berger is teaming up with Brad Pitt for The Riders, a new film from A24 that’s based on the popular novel by Tim Winton. David Kajganich has been tapped to write the screenplay. The novel follows Fred Scully (Pitt), a man who lands in Ireland with his wife and daughter on a mystical whim to buy an old farmhouse. His wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Billie, return to Australia, but only Billie comes back to Ireland with no explanation. It’s here that Scully’s life begins to fall apart as he grapples with the sudden and unexpected loss of his wife. Additional casting for the film is ongoing.
