“There’s No Absolutes for Me”: Tobey Maguire Was Always Ready for Spider-Man 4 but It Never Happened
It was a different time. It was a different era. Tobey Maguire donning the mask of Spider-Man and climbing walls was something that the world hadn’t seen before. Naturally, sequels were made for this iconic franchise.
Veteran director Sam Raimi crushed it, and Spider-Man 2 received even more love and fame than the first part. The third part was a disastrous failure, but Tobey Maguire wouldn’t have minded making a fourth movie as the masked wall crawler.
After Maguire stepped down, Andrew Garfield followed up, becoming the next Spider-Man, and then the MCU got Tom Holland to take up the baton. But Maguire’s portrayal remains a fond memory in the minds of millennials, and they almost got a fourth movie with him.
