'Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski Directing 'Miami Vice' From Dan Gilroy

Anthony Yerkovich and Michael Mann's original Miami Vice series has stood the test of time, with its unique spin on the police procedural making it worth rewatching 35 years later. The story of Miami Vice was also so engrossing to its producer, Michael Mann, that he directed a feature film adaptation of the series in 2006, starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Unfortunately, it received poor critical and audience reception. Now, another iteration is in the works, as Universal Pictures has recruited a new director and writer to help bring this new version of Miami Vice to life.

A new report from Deadline reveals that Director Joseph Kosinski will helm the new Miami Vice film and that Dan Gilroy will write the script for the upcoming movie.
