Tessia Might Betray Arthur in ‘The Beginning After the End’ Episode 5’s Fixation on Her Unusual Behaviour

The anime adaptation for The Beginning After the End is slowly fixing some aspects, even though the animation is still pretty terrible. The dynamic between Arthur and Tessia is actually interesting, thanks to the few liberties Studio A-Cat has taken to bring nuance to their relationship. The anime seems to have added an exclusive scene that alluded to a future betrayal.
In Episode 4, we witness Tessia wear an angry, if not uninterested, expression on her face while Arthur is getting arrested at the end of the episode. From his perspective, she betrayed him after he saved her. The shock of this still lingers in his mind in Episode 5.
The latest episode, however, retcons this and shows their budding friendship. Arthur learns more about what it means to be a child through her, as he does technically have the mind of an old king. However, the mention of the glare Tessia...
