Luca Guadagnino's 'Sgt. Rock' Movie Cancelled at DC Studios

It’s been just over a month since it was reported that Colin Farrell would star in the Dcu’s Sgt. Rock movie from Luca Guadagnino, but now things have come to a screeching halt. THR is reporting that Sgt. Rock is no longer moving forward before it ever began production. James Gunn mentioned during a DC event earlier this year with Collider in attendance that there had been some trouble getting the project off the ground. THR also included in their report that Mike Faist, who previously starred in Challengers for Guadagnino, was also in talks to star in the project. It was in pre-production in England and was planning to begin shooting this summer. It’s unclear at the time why the project was scrapped, but it’s the first under Gunn to receive the ax.
