Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thunderbolts* is in theaters and wow, what a storm it brought to the franchise, especially with Sentry officially flowing into the MCU. Among its chaotic anti-hero crew, one golden god stood out, Bob aka Sentry. Of course, fans have been impatiently waiting for him ever since the trailer teased a glimpse of the unhinged powerhouse, but now we’ve seen him all, and it’s time to say the casting switch was a blessing in disguise.

Played by Lewis Pullman, Sentry featured an intense, eerie, and oddly sympathetic character, yet another dangerously unstable mix that worked perfectly for Marvel’s terrifying hero. And Pullman’s pure comic-book chaos performance made us forget the once imagined Steven Yeun donning the golden cape version. Honestly, Sentry might just be Marvel’s most haunting big-screen debut yet, all thanks to the casting choice.
