Thunderbolts* Has the Longest MCU Post-Credits Scene, But How Does It Really Set Up ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?

Thunderbolts* landed in theatres, and we finally know what that asterisk stands for in the title. As speculated by numerous sources, the asterisk was in fact in place to indicate that the team was not necessarily called The Thunderbolts. In fact, the team, by the end of the film, has been dubbed The New Avengers.
In the post-credit scene of the film, the team is alerted to an interdimensional ship in Earth’s outer atmosphere, which comes into view, with a huge ‘4’ emblazoned on it. As fans would know, the next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to be The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Now, while the post-credit scene might point towards the next entry in the MCU, speculations suggest that it can point towards Avengers: Doomsday as well.
