Outlander’s Caitriona Balfe Joins 2 Marvel Stars In Movie Based On The True Story Of The First Individuals To Reach Mount Everest’s Summit

Outlander star Caitríona Balfe joins a cast that includes two Marvel stars in a movie based on a remarkable true story. The role comes as fans eagerly await Outlander season 8, which marks the end of the long-running series featuring Balfe as Claire Fraser. Balfe has been playing Claire since the hit Starz show based on Diana Gabaldon's novels first debuted in 2014. While she is best known for her Outlander role, Balfe has also starred in Ford v Ferrari, Belfast, and the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
According to Deadline, Balfe has been cast in Apple Original Films' Tenzing, which is based on the real-life story of the Nepalese mountaineer Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, as he and New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary became the first to successfully reach Mount Everest's summit. Balfe is set to play a friend of Tenzing's, Jill Henderson, who helps organize the trips up Mount Everest.
