‘American Idol’ renewed for Season 24
American Idol has been renewed for the 2025-26 season, ABC announced Friday.
It'll mark the reality show's ninth season on ABC and 24th overall. No confirmation yet on who will return for the new installment. Season 23 saw former Idol champ Carrie Underwood replace Katy Perry on the judges' table, where she sat alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The Season 23 finale airs May 18.
ABC also handed out renewals to America's Funniest Home Videos (Season 36), Celebrity Jeopardy! (Season 4), Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (Season 6), Shark Tank (Season 17).
