After facing multiple delays since its 2022 announcement, it seems that people’s greatest fear about the sequel has manifested itself—Matt Reeves has reportedly withdrawn from the director’s chair.

Matt Reeves’ position as director first came into question in mid-April, after an insider mentioned that The Batman 2 is facing delays since the filmmaker had been dealing with personal issues. Thereafter, even Jeff Sneider speculated that Warner Bros. might be forcing Reeves out of the project. And now it seems both rumors may have been true.
