Francis Ford Coppola Slams Trump’s Planned Movie Tariffs: “These tariffs are like slamming the door closed.”
Francis Ford Coppola is a brand name when it comes to Hollywood and the film industry in general. Despite some recent flops, he is a giant who has brought us timeless classics such as The Godfather trilogy, The Conversation, and Apocalypse Now.
In recent years, though, he has been struggling, and his most recent outing, the political satire Megalopolis, flopped in a major way. And while Coppola is adamant about defending his movie, Megalopolis is really below the great director’s capabilities.
But, as you know, Coppola is not giving up and is planning to make two more movies. At the same time, he is giving interviews, and in a recent one, he criticized Trump’s planned movie tariffs.
