After Canceling 1 New Drama Series, Fox Renews 2 Popular Comedy Shows
Two shows have been guaranteed to continue on Fox while another wasn't so lucky. Unfortunately for the latter, it's going to be a one-season run.
Per Deadline, Rescue Hi-Surf has been canceled after one season. The show, which follows Hawaiian lifeguards, wrapped up its first season on March 31. As the show was not a breakout success on the level of Doc, which was renewed for a 22-episode second season, the decision was made not to move forward with a second season.
It's an unfortunate update for fans of the show, especially as it debuted strong with a premiere that pulled in 4.7 million Live+Same Day viewers. According to the new report, there had still been consideration to renew the series, in part due to the involvement of producer John Wells.
