WGA Members Reverse 2024 Censure Of Tim Doyle
Updated with statement from Tim Doyle: WGA members on Friday overturned a 2024 censure of Tim Doyle for posting a “racist and offensive depiction of a lynching” on Facebook, Deadline has confirmed.
“I was genuinely surprised by the win and moved by the level of support I received from the rank and file membership,” Doyle, , the longtime showrunner whose credits include Rules of Engagement, Last Man Standing and Better Off Ted, tells Deadline. “I think they recognized overreach by the WGA Board of Directors and pushed back against it.”
An email that went out to members said “a majority of current members in good standing who voted adopted the alternative action proposed by Doyle by a vote of 915 to 557: overturn the board’s discipline (public censure).”
