Having completed over a month of release in theaters worldwide, A Minecraft Movie is now in the home stretch of its run. This weekend, it'll pass the $900 million mark and begin its final push towards the coveted $1 billion milestone. Domestically, the film is passing the $400 million milestone as we speak, and, in doing so, is overtaking one of modern cinema's most influential blockbusters. A Minecraft Movie remains the highest-grossing Hollywood hit of the year, and the second-biggest video game adaptation of all time.

While it no longer has much chance of overtaking The Super Mario Bros. Movieon the list of the highest-grossing video game adaptations ever made, it still has an outside chance of hitting the $500 million milestone domestically.
